Ok, parliamo di Avatar PDF Stampa E-mail

Avatar movie - Na'vi & AvatarGiuro, non lo volevo fare (un articolo dedicato unicamente al film Avatar di James Cameron, già regista di blockbuster come Terminator, Aliens, The Abyss, True Lies o Titanic) ma è inutile ogni resistenza. Dopo il diluvio di parole spese negli Stati Uniti e nel resto del mondo la poderosa macchina da guerra della stampa si è messa in moto anche in Italia con gli esiti prevedibili e ampiamente previsti (anche da SLnn.it) di questi casi. Si va da chi come Natalia Aspesi su La Repubblica parlando di Avatar (230 milioni di costi, promozione esclusa, 1.602 milioni incassati finora, secondo solo ai 1.843 di Titanic proprio grazie al successo mondiale, visto che nei soli Usa gli incassi sono finora inferiori anche a The Dark Night) si domanda “quante volte abbiamo visto un film tale e quale, con il cattivo invasore che perde e il buon selvaggio che vince, e il giovane straniero che s´innamora riamato della bella indigena?” a Michele Anselmi, che sul Secolo XIX si diverte a riprendere “la disputa ideologica tutta americana, con la destra conservatrice schierata contro Avatar, insieme a centinaia di blog neocon pronti a scandire la parola d'ordine, un po’ ridicola, del boicottaggio”.

Boicottaggio ridicolo visto che a produrre il film è la 20th Century Fox del gruppo NewsCorp di Rupert Murdoch (non propriamente un “liberal”) e che non funziona, ovviamente, visto che il film è affidato a un regista da sempre perfettamente integrato col sistema hollywoodiano ed in grado di garantire incassi stratosferici coi suoi prodotti. In compenso la disputa che “sembrava tutta americana” funziona almeno come chiave per provare ad acchiappare lettori pure da noi, con Maurizio Cabona che su Il Giornale parla del film come di un “esiguo riconoscimento morale” tributato dagli Stati Uniti alle vittime delle loro guerre coloniali e neocoloniali. Mentre Anselma Dell’Olio su Liberal parla di “tifo anti-occidentale” che candida Avatar “a film culto di Al Qaeda”.
Addirittura? Meglio allora l’analisi di Rosario (Di Girolamo, aka Dep1050 Plasma) nello speciale su Nextopeninnovation. Rosario-Dep, in risposta a quanto si chiede Paolo Mereghetti sul Corriere della Sera (Avatar capace di stupire ma storia debole), ossia se il film entrerà nella storia del cinema, risponde: “Mereghetti sbaglia, Avatar è già nella storia del cinema” anche solo a vedere dal numero di sale (430 delle 900 in cui il film è stato fatto uscire il 15 gennaio, in contemporanea con Cina, Giappone, Argentina, Polonia, Georgia e in ritardo di un mese rispetto al resto del mondo) attrezzata col 3D (criticato da più parti per le attuali limitazioni tecnologiche ma intanto protagonista di tutta la stagione cinematografica invernale).

Avatar - the game from GameloftInsomma, un film culto per quanto riguarda gli effetti speciali, la grafica, la distribuzione e la produzione. Che potrà o meno entrare nella “leggenda” come Guerre Stellari ma che già oggi sta generando giochi di ruolo (guardate qui: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SSr4-9WG6Nk), “che potrebbe evolvere in un mmorpg, o in un virtual world” perché come dice Rosario “se non si fa un virtual world per gli avatar, per chi altri”? Tutto vero e, aggiungiamo noi, tutto perfettamente funzionale anche alla rincorsa alle keyword e ai tweet (peraltro già in calo a livello planetario per quanto attiene al termine “avatar”, proprio in quanto il film è in realtà già “vecchio” di oltre un mese). Tanto che anche Second Life e Imvu come ha ricordato Wagner James aka Amlet Au su New World Notes hanno sfruttato l’occasione con tanto di banner “ufficiali” ricchi di avatar azzurri, gli stessi che sono ormai divenuti uno dei soggetti favoriti di molti artisti che propongono i propri lavori su Flickr o Koinup. Ma che c’entra tutto questo col cinema ed alla fine anche con gli avatar, almeno per come siamo stati finora abituati a pensarli sul web e in mondi virtuali come Second Life?

Ok, let's talk about Avatar
I swear: I did not want to do (an article dedicated solely to Avatar the movie of James Cameron, former director of blockbusters such as Terminator, Aliens, The Abyss, True Lies and Titanic), but all resistance is useless. After the deluge of words spent in the United States and around the world the mighty war machine of the press is put in motion in Italy too, with the predictable and widely expected results (even by SLnn.it) of these cases. Comments range from those of Natalia Aspesi, whom talking on La Repubblica about Avatar (230 millions cost, without counting promotions, 1.602 millions collected so far, second only to the 1843 millions of Titanic thanks to global success, while only in the U.S. box office are far less of The Dark Night too) asks "how many times have we seen a movie as such, with the evil invader who loses and who wins the noble savage, and the young foreigner who falls for the beautiful beloved native?" to those of Michele Anselmi, whom on Secolo XIX likes to talk about the "all-American ideological dispute with the conservative right lined up against Avatar, along with hundreds of blogs neocons are ready to chant the slogan, slightly ridiculous, boycott".

Boycott ridiculous surely since producer of the film is the 20th Century Fox of Rupert Murdoch's NewsCorp group (not exactly a “liberal”) and that does not work, obviously, since the film is built by a director perfectly integrated with the Hollywood system and able to guarantee box office stratosphere with its products. On the other hand the argument that "seemed all-American" works at least as a key to try to catch readers even in Italy, with Mauritius Cabona than on "Il Giornale" speaks of the film as a "low moral recognition" bestowed by the United States for victims of colonial and neo-colonial wars. While Anselma Dell’Olio on “Liberal talks of “anti-Western supporters” that candidates Avatar as “a cult movie of Al Qaeda”.
Really? Better then the analysis of Rosario (Di Girolamo, aka Dep1050 Plasma) on the special of Nextopeninnovation (http://www.nextinnovation.it/site/news/articles/user-created/201001/Avatar---qui.html) . Rosario-Dep, in response to what Paolo Mereghetti on the “Corriere della Sera” asks (Avatar capable of amazing history, but weak), whether the movie will go down in film history, replied: “Mereghetti is wrong, Avatar is already in the history of cinema” even only because of the number of theatres (430 of the 900 in which the film was released January 15, simultaneously with China, Japan, Argentina, Poland, Georgia, one month later compared to the rest of the world) that are equipped with 3D (criticized by many for the current technological limitations, but meanwhile protagonist of the entire film season winter).

Avatar - banners from SL and IMVUIn short, a cult movie with regard to special effects, graphics, distribution and production. That may or may not enter into the “legend” like Star Wars but already is generating role-playing games (see there: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SSr4-9WG6Nk) “that could evolve into a mmorpg, or in a virtual world” because as Rosario says “unless you make a virtual world for avatar, for who else”? All true, and we might add all perfectly functional even in the run-up keyword and tweet (already in decline at the global level with regard to the term “avatar”, precisely because the film is in fact already “old” more than a month). So much so that Second Life and Imvu, as pointed Hamlet Au aka Wagner James on New World Notes (http://nwn.blogs.com/nwn/2010/01/imvu-avatar-advertises-sl-avatar.html) have exploited the occasion both with “official” banners rich of blue avatars, the same ones that have now become one of the favorite subjects of many artists who offer their works on Flickr and Koinup. But what has this to do with the cinema and, at the end with the avatars, at least as we have been accustomed to thinking on the web and in virtual worlds like Second Life?

Ho letto una cosa troppo generosa ma interessante, su Facebook, e la cito di peso: "Per gli amanti di SL, la chiara conferma che non si può vivere a scavalco di due mondi, occorre scegliere, altrimenti si sta male e si diventa inevitabilmente traditori.
