Avatar, il film campione d’incassi di James Cameron, ha scatenato la fantasia dei residenti di Second Life, tanto che sono sorte rapidamente molte località ispirate a Pandora e alla guerra tra umani e Na’vi. Tra le comunità nazionali la più attiva pare quella tedesca che con Pandora Magic ha dedicato tre sim ad un gioco di ruolo che prende spunto dalle vicende narrate dal film. Per i francesi Sullivan Infinity, già proprietario di un mall dedicato a Star Wars, ha sviluppato un’intera isola, Pegase, e un relativo clan, quello di Omatikaya, dedicata ad un gioco di ruolo basato sulle vicende descritte da Avatar.

In entrambi i casi, come in sempre più numerosi negozi in tutta Second Life, non stupitevi se una volta lasciate le zone di ingresso, ambientate in entrambi i casi su un’astronave terrestre in orbita attorno a Pandora, vi troverete circondati da avatar azzurri impegnati a dialogare in una lingua incomprensibile per chi non conosca il linguaggio dei nativi del pianeta blu. Se vi piacciono i giochi di ruolo vi consigliamo vivamente di provare entrambe le comunità entrando nei rispettivi gruppi e sfruttando la flessibilità degli avatar di Second Life e la creatività dei suoi residenti per ricostruire nel modo più fedele possibile i personaggi del film.

Avatar, the blockbuster movie of James Cameron, has sparked the imagination of the residents of Second Life, so that have risen rapidly many locations inspired to Pandora and to the war between humans and Na'vi. Between national communities seems to be the more active the German, that with Pandora Magic devoted three sims to a role-playing game inspired by the events narrated by the movie. For the French, Infinity Sullivan, yet owner of a mall dedicated to Star Wars, has developed an entire island, Pegase, and a clan, those of Omatikaya, dedicated to a role-playing game based on stories described by Avatar.

In both cases, as more and more stores across Second Life, do not be surprised if once leaving the entry areas, set in both cases on a spaceship orbiting Pandora planet, you will be surrounded by blue avatars engaged to talk in a language incomprehensible to those unfamiliar with the language of the natives of the blue planet. If you like RPGs we suggest you to try both communities joining their respective groups and exploiting the flexibility of the avatars of Second Life and creativity of its residents to reconstruct as faithfully as possible the characters of the film.
